Cadel’s outstanding Individual Time Trial brings the first yellow jersey to Australia!

A punishing climb through the alps. After battling valiantly for 10 days, Voeckler finally relinquishes his jersey.

Andy leaves the pack behind and goes solo for the last two climbs. He pulls off a risky move and proves he’s got the heart of a champion.

First day in the Alps. On the French and Italian sides.

A rainy descent to the finish. Some riders handled it better than others.

A mostly uneventful stage. Unless of course you count the ridiculously beautiful scenery.

Jelle Vanendert is the only rider able to escape. He takes the stage win and converts his team colours into polka dots.

Seven days in yellow, and now a mountain stage win as well. The god of thunder electrifies the crowd with a big finish in Lourdes.

Happy Bastille Day! A Frenchman (Voeckler) retains the yellow jersey as the action heads into the high mountains.

Even a gray and rainy day is a good day on the tour.

Mostly flat with some rolling hills. It’ll seem flat compared to the mountains ahead.

Stage 9 was brutal. Major crashes, riders being hit by cars. One of the worst I can remember. Hopefully the rest day will be good for the remaining riders, and those who have abandoned recover soon.

Getting into some moderate climbs in Stage 8.

A flat stage with sprinters battling for the green. More crashes, broken bones, concussions and a few forced to abandon the race.

Strong crosswinds in Stage 5 lead to many crashes. It was bloody out there.

Stage 4 saw Cadel Evans beat Alberto Contador at the line in a photo finish.

Riding through the French county side. Just another day at the office.
