2019 Tour de France Stage 19

Étape 19 A dramatic day on the Tour. Near the end of a great tour and potential podium finish, Thibaut Pino is forced to abandon due to a torn thigh muscle. Then a unlikely hail storm causes mudslides and closes the roads. The organizers are forced to cancel the final climb, and finish times are taken when riders cross the Col de l'Iseran. That puts Alaphilippe out of the yellow jersey, and Egan Bernal into it with a lead of 45 seconds. While obviously disappointed, Alaphilippe is gracious in accepting the events of the day saying, "I gave the maximum. I have no regrets." "I have been beaten by something that is stronger than me."
