Bio / CV / Résumé

Hi, I’m Bruce Doscher. I’ve been a Creative / Art Director for most of my career, and an artist my whole life. I have a technical mind that loves problem solving, and a creative mind that loves finding solutions to those problems in interesting ways.

I’ve worked in the creative industry for close to two decades. I cut my teeth in New York during the first dot-com boom. It was a great time for anyone willing to work incredibly hard. It was a bad time for anyone looking to cash-in without effort. Luckily I was in the former group, and while I didn’t hit pay dirt, I set myself up with experience and work ethic that would propel my career.

I went on to fill my portfolio with work on prestigious brands such as Volvo, Intel, New Balance, HBO, Citibank, Yahoo!, Motorola, Above The Influence, US Census, and many others. I worked as an Art Director at Havas (then EuroRSCG), BBDO, and Ogilvy, before joining FCB New York as a Senior Art Director. After a short time I was promoted to Associate Creative Director leading a team on various campaigns. After making the move from New York to New Zealand, I re-joined the FCB team in Auckland as a Senior Creative Consultant, playing an influential role in winning major clients Air New Zealand, and Vodafone. I moved on to do some award winning work with Y&R, and am currently a Brand Consultant with strategy specialists, Brandology.

I have ongoing active side projects. I’ve sold my artwork on 6 continents (looking at you Antarctica). I’ve gained an international following on social media, I’ve lead successful kick-starter campaigns, and have authored, published, promoted, and sold a book.

Outside of work, I love an adventure. I’ve ran a dozen marathons, two Ironman triathlons, and cycled the Tour de France. I once road a motorcycle coast-to-coast across the US. I served four years as a volunteer Firefighter in New Zealand. I’m currently an active pilot, pursuing my commercial license. My biggest, most challenging, most rewarding adventure, is raising my three kids.
